Whale watching in the Westfjords

Last Wednesday, for our class of Marine Ecology, we had a field trip where we had to do some data collection of whales. We were in group on 3-4 and one had to take the data while the other one would take pictures for photo ID. It seems easy enough, but that was disregarding the excitement we would feel when we actually saw around 20-25 humpback whales nearby. But few of my classmates were taken it seriously as you can see below.

I did a montage of all my little videos that you can watch. It was an amazing field trip and we realized that it’s not that easy to do data collection because at one point, it gets difficult to follow the whale and to know if its a different or the same one.
